5 Awesome Ed Norton Performances and 5 That Sucked

3. 25th Hour (2002)

Norton€™s Character: Monty Brogan Why It Was Awesome: 25th Hour represents Norton in a role to which he€™s most suited in my opinion. It€™s almost a semi-reprise of his astounding turn in American History X; he plays a criminal, a high-earning drug dealer to be exact, who when cornered by the DEA, re-evaluates his choices in life. This movie split the critics down the middle when it was released; some arguing it was vague and self-satisfied, others saying it was Spike Lee€™s best joint in years. Regardless, Norton gives a characteristically thoughtful performance, filled with wit and more than a little hint of regret. It€™s definitely worth the two hours you€™ll give it; not just for Norton, but I can€™t deny, he is a major factor.
