5 Awesome Movie Dads And 5 That Suck

2. Jack Torrance in The Shining

The Shining is Stanley Kubrick€™s masterful horror based on the Stephen King book. Jack Nicholson plays our father from Hell: Jack Torrance. Jack is a writer who takes an off-season caretaker job in a middle of nowhere hotel forcing his wife and son to come with him. Family Fun Time! Not. Strange things are going on inside the hotel not to mention poor little Danny who has a bit of a sixth sense thing going on and constantly sees the ghosts that reside in the hotel. There is also a snowstorm blazing and the family gets trapped in the hotel. A great occasion for a father figure to step up and provide for the family but that€™s not Jack. Influenced by a demonic supernatural presence he descends into murdering madness. Jack becomes animalistic, dangerous and he€™s out for both wife and son who try their hardest to flee. Little Danny is seen pedaling through the hotel and into the maze whilst his wife Wendy runs in and out of corridors. If I were Danny, I€™d hold out on the father€™s day card.
