5 Most Baffling Accents Of Sean Connery

4. The Hunt For Red October

Going back to 1990, when Connery was still enjoying something of a swansong in his career, he put in a great performance as a submarine Captain in cold war thriller The Hunt For Red October. He was even nominated for a BAFTA, for the last time in his career, such was the calibre of his performance. Did I mention that he was playing a Soviet submarine Captain? No? Well it's true, and literally the only thing that brings down his performance is his all-new level of "I don't really do other accents, work around it", because whilst Connery spends most of the film speaking in his own voice, with no change in even the slightest margins, he also speaks a couple of lines in Russian. That's right, Sean Connery is so laid back about his own accent that he actually bothered to learn his Russian lines, but couldn't raise the same energy to alter his natural voice to sound like even the most stereotypical Russian accent. Points for coolness once more.
