This week marked the 75th Birthday of Superman, the creation of Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, and it's now 8 weeks before he returns to the silver screen in Man of Steel. The character's first appearance in comic books came on 18th April 1938 in the now iconic Action Comics #1, and since then he has had five feature films; Superman and the Mole Men, Superman: The Movie, Superman 2, 3, and 4 and Superman Returns. Whilst not all of the films have been successes with the movie going public or even with Superman fans themselves, there is no denying he has seen some of the greatest moments in comic book movie history. So to celebrate Big Blue's birthday ahead of what will hopefully be the best present a Superman fan could ask for in Zack Snyder's Man of Steel, let's take a look at some of the characters greatest moments on film.
