5 Cancelled Superhero Movies That Would Have Made Billions

Missed opportunities of the super kind.

You might have noticed that superhero movies do a lot of business these days. That once frowned upon sub-genre consisting of cheesy one-liners and really bad costumes has somehow managed to brand itself with a reputation for pulling in excessive amounts of cash, resulting in box office hauls in the hundreds of millions... and sometimes the billions. A movie has to create a real cultural explosion if it is to reach that elusive billion dollar mark, of course; it has to rip and resonant through the fabric of modern life, ensuring that either everyone has seen it (or at the very least, knows what it is). You know, a zeitgeist film. Could some of the unreleased, cancelled or abandoned superhero flicks also have gone on to make over a billion dollars just like The Avengers, The Avengers: Age of Ultron, Iron Man 3, The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises? If there was a chance at it happening, the following five films probably had the best shot...
