5 Clues That Pierce Brosnan’s James Bond Dies In Die Another Day
1. M's Death In Skyfall
M's death in Skyfall sends ripples of sorrow across MI6. And nobody feels the sting of her passing more so than our man, 007.
In the closing act of Skyfall, Daniel Craig's Bond can be seen standing alone on a London rooftop. But wouldn't it be more apt if an equally jaded male figure appeared to stand beside him?
Let's consider the unwritten lore of James Bond movies, and that's that 007/James Bond is in fact a code name. Every Bond from Connery to Dalton is a different MI6 agent, adopting the same role following the retirement or disbandment of the previous, very much in the same way a Q, M or Moneypenny can be replaced.
The only breakage in this theory, is the segment in Skyfall where Bond visits the gravestones of his parents in his rural Scottish childhood home, which does confirm that 'James Bond' is his real name. But one, for the sake of argument, can put this small detail down to coincidence.
So given this, we know that two separate Bonds operated successively under the management of Judi Dench's M. And surely with their own complex professional relationship, with the quips arguments and ultimate mutual affection, Brosnan’s Bond would also be on hand to pay tribute to his former boss following her death...
Unless of course the fictitious world of MI6 knows something we don't: he was dead the entire time…
