3. What About Bob?
Here we have a case of having to choose between the lesser of two evils: Richard Dreyfuss stuck-up and pretentious psychiatrist or Bill Murrays neurotic and annoying mental patient. Dreyfuss family sides with Murray but their acceptance of him goes beyond simple accommodation and verges on creepiness. Dreyfuss may be full of himself but its hard not to sympathize with him at times as Murray becomes The Thing That Wouldnt Leave. That is, until he tries to kill Murray. By that point, any goodwill towards the two men is gone and were left hoping Dreyfuss wife and kids dont get caught in the crossfire. The film proves that therapy isnt always therapeutic.
