5 Futuristic Movie Toys We Want Now

1. Teddy. A.I: Artificial Intelligence

Arguably not as cool, or with as many practical benefits as some of the others on this list, but the only thing on my mind after watching this Spielberg science fiction epic was€ €œboy, I want that teddy thing€.

Ok, so I was eleven when I saw the film, and hadn't completely grown out of my childhood teddies at this point, plus I was obsessed at the time with robotic dogs, but whenever I watch this film again (and FYI, I watched it about 2 weeks ago) I still think to myself€ €œboy, I want that teddy thing€.

Is it sad that I am now pretty much a grown man and I still really, really want a teddy bear toy aimed at children? I don't think so. That thing is so many levels of cool€ It talks like a fifty year old depressed man, it is pretty intelligent and could probably have very intellectual conversations with you on pretty much any topic, it also tries to look out for you (as seen when trying to prevent David from eating vegetables) and it can act as a friendly and wise companion for life. Basically, it's like a pet dog, if a dog could talk, never needed to be fed, and would never die. The reason it's OK to have one of these awesome robotic teddy bear toys as an adult is exactly the same reason why it's OK to have a pet dog as an adult too, and in fact, this robot makes much more sense.

I don't understand why, with Teddy in the house, David the android's human parents would ever feel the need to have adopted him in the first place. Teddy is so much cooler, and so much brighter than David ever was. David spent his life searching for a Blue Fairy that clearly never existed whereas Teddy tried to stop David from killing himself. David was supposed to be the pinnacle of robotic achievement although Teddy was the far superior creation€ and he was just a simple child's toy.

I love this thing. Someone please make one for me?

So, have I missed your favorite gadget out? What other futuristic movie toys do you want to play with now?
