2. Linda Hamilton
Linda Hamilton might be most remembered for her hilariously big hair in
The Terminator, but she sure turned heads when she took on a lean, muscular look for
Terminator 2: Judgement Day. In the lineage of Cameron's emotionally and physically strong female protagonists, she stands right alongside
Aliens' Ellen Ripley; a supreme physical specimen who is also relatably human and troubled by existential issues. Hamilton later married Cameron for a time, before Cameron copped off with one of
Titanic's day players, Suzi Amis. While the thought of Hamilton, now aged 55, taking an action-centric role might seem difficult to buy, we think she might fit the role of a corporate suit extremely well. Sure, it's not a character type she's exactly known for, but as a hard-ass bureaucrat, not unlike Giovanni Ribisi's character in the first film, she would still get to demonstrate her feminine strength, but in a very different way. Of course, if she gets to fire a gun near the end, we're not going to complain...Still, you can file this one in the fantasy section, because the difficult personal relationship between Hamilton and Cameron makes it unlikely she would be cast in anything else Cameron makes.
