1. Disregard Lessons 2-5
It seems as though a perfect storm is brewing to finally bring the Justice League movie to fruition: Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy reaching its end, the positive buzz surrounding the early screenings of Man of Steel, and Warner Brothers seeking a new, long-running franchise to take over the always-reliable Harry Potter series. However, the release of The Avengers last summer could actually end up being a hindrance for the Justice League film, despite all the valuable storytelling and filmmaking lessons that can be gleaned from the blockbuster. By sticking too close to the successful formula set up by The Avengers, the Justice League film could suffer from inevitable comparisons to the former - which set an abnormally high bar for films of this caliber. In order to succeed, the Justice League movie is going to have to give us something totally unexpected, something that we have never seen before that truly sets it apart from The Avengers. Luckily, Nolan, Snyder and the team at Warner Brothers have proven themselves over the years to be too smart and savvy to compromise on creativity and vision for the sake of a "sure thing." And hopefully they won't stop now. Man of Steel should be a great indicator of things to come, and things are looking pretty good so far. So, what do you think? Are there any other lessons the Justice League movie could learn from The Avengers? How do you think the film will pan out? Start the conversation in the comments below!
