3. True Romance
True Romance was written by Tarantino, but directed by Tony Scott. It features Christian Slater as Clarence Worley, who works a leisurely job as a comic-book store clerk. This is somewhat similar to Tarantino's life, as he worked at a video-store when he was younger. One night while Clarence is watching a ninja movie at the local complex, a blonde-haired woman sits right next to him; there are a ton of empty seats in the theater, and Clarence glances over ponderously, knowing this. This unsubtle introduction leads to marriage, killing, and fleeing the country. The two actors have a great chemistry, and Slater especially plays an incredible bad-ass who loves comic books superbly: what an awesome combination of tastes for a movie.
