5 Movies You Didn’t Know Were Written By Famous Directors

3. Stuart Little (M. Night Shyamalan)

M. Night Shyamalan€™s career has been a very interesting thing to watch. His latest films have not been getting great reviews (such as After Earth, Avatar: The Last Airbender, etc.) and most still probably remember him as the €œtwist-ending€ guy. This was due to his breakout film The Sixth Sense (starring Bruce Willis) dominating the box office and shocking audiences at the very end of the film with its carefully thought out ghost story.

From there, he developed a reputation for making eerie, unpredictable films like The Village and Signs. Before all of that success, however, Shyamalan was putting his energy into much more casual fare. Before The Sixth Sense debuted, Shyamalan was hired to write a family-friendly affair about a little white mouse called Stuart Little.

Yes, its hard to imagine the same guy who wrote the story for Devil hunched over a notepad, writing about a band of cats kidnapping a mouse. Fun fact: David O. Russell (director of The Fighter and Silver Linings Playbook) did an uncredited script polish for Stuart Little.
