5 Ongoing Marvel Comics That Need To Be Made Into Films

Some of the best comic book source material can be found releasing currently.

Winter Soldier
Marvel

With the vast array of stories Marvel Comics has under its belt, it's not really any wonder why the company's movies tend to draw from some of the older tales, mainly due to how they are actually finished and well regarded amongst comic book fans.

Yet, while these comics may feature some absolutely fantastic stories, many of the books that Marvel are currently publishing are of such high quality that adapting them sooner, rather than later, shouldn't be ruled out. The publisher are currently in the midst of a truly inventive period, with many of the books currently on shelves able to provide stories which would take their on-screen characters in new directions, or simply provide a great viewing experience for moviegoers.

This is especially true when you consider how some of these comics would also serve as fabulous gateways for new heroes to join the MCU, or even allow old ones to take up roles they have yet to be seen in on the big screen.

There are plenty of comics worthy of making the jump to the big screen, but some in particular would lend themselves to live action...

5. Cates' Guardians Of The Galaxy

Winter Soldier
Marvel Comics

While Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will most likely be the end of the series (if Marvel follows the same pattern it has done with their other trilogies), Donny Cates' current run on the group would make for a wonderful new start after James Gunn has concluded his cosmic tale.

This incarnation of the team features the slightly more obscure characters of Moondragon (Drax's daughter), Phylla-Vell (Captain Mar-Vell's daughter), Beta Ray Bill (Thor, but with the face of a horse) and Cosmic Ghost Rider (Frank Castle with the Spirit of Vengeance and the Power Cosmic), as well as the familiar faces of Star Lord and Groot.

With such a roster, and the extremely compelling tale that Cates has woven around it, Marvel would be fools to not use this as inspiration for a movie later down the line.
