5 Questions We Have About Avengers: Age of Ultron

2. What About Thanos?

thanos The mid-credits scene in The Avengers featured the reveal that the master of the Chitauri and the one who gave Loki the scepter was none other than Thanos, the Mad Titan himself. Ever since that scene, speculation abound suggested Thanos would be the major villain for the sequel, but now that we know it will be called Age of Ultron, all bets are off. Whedon had previously said that while Thanos will be in the sequel, he won€™t be the main villain, which suggests some more behind-the-scenes manipulating on his part. Thanos has been confirmed for Guardians of the Galaxy, but how big his role is remains to be seen, and that could also potentially tie in with his appearance in Age of Ultron (not to mention showing some greater cohesion between the cosmic and Earth-bound sides of the Marvel Cinematic Universe). How will Thanos tie into Age of Ultron, though? It would probably be a mistake for him to play the same role to Ultron as he played with Loki in the previous film, so that raises all sorts of questions about what, if anything, these two characters will have in common. Could Ultron's actions in this movie somehow lead the Avengers and Thanos on a collision course with each other?
