5 Reasons Mark Ruffalo's Hulk Should Get His Own Movie

4. A Great Supporting Cast

samson We€™ve already gotten a great version of Betty Ross played by the incredible Jennifer Connelly (and a far-less impressive Betty from Liv Tyler). And we saw Glenn Talbot in Hulk, Leonard Samson in The Incredible Hulk, and Thunderbolt Ross in both. But I think every Hulk fan has seen both these movies and wondered, €œwhere the hell is Rick Jones?€ If you don€™t know who Rick Jones is, he€™s basically the reason Banner transformed into the Hulk. On a dare, he drove out to a bomb testing ground, where Bruce Banner was testing his gamma bomb. Pulling Rick to safety, Banner was caught in the gamma explosion and transformed into the Hulk. Rick quickly became the Hulk€™s only real friend and confidant, constantly going on adventures with him, and later Rick became an honorary Avenger and has had widespread interactions with various characters in the Marvel Universe. It would also be great to see more of Doc Samson. He had a €œblink and you miss it€ part in The Incredible Hulk as Betty€™s new boyfriend, but other than a deleted scene where he and Bruce have a chat, there wasn€™t much done with him. In the comics, Samson was also a psychiatrist who exposed himself to some gamma radiation siphoned off the Hulk, which turned his hair green and granted him superhuman strength. Or Bruce€™s cousin, Jennifer Walters. A lawyer who, after an emergency blood transfusion from Bruce, was transformed into the She-Hulk and has (in the comics, at least) been a more prominent fixture in the Avengers than the Hulk. Also a member of the Fantastic Four, bringing She-Hulk into the mix could mean she ends up an Avenger in the future (perhaps when Ruffalo is ready to bow out). There are a lot of other characters who could contribute to a new Hulk film. Aside from the ones already mentioned, there€™s also Kate Waynesboro, a love interest for Bruce as well as an undercover SHIELD agent. Or Amadeus Cho, a young man who is also one of the smartest people in the world. We might even be able to manage an appearance by Namor, possibly leading to an adaptation later on down the line of one of my all-time favorite comics, The Defenders.
