5 Reasons The Superhero Bubble Won't Burst Any Time Soon

The Avengers are here to stay.

Even though superhero movies are so obviously overwhelmingly popular in just about every market imaginable while simultaneously adding ever-increasing legions to the fandoms of previously relatively unknown characters such as Groot, Rocket Racoon, and The Falcon, people seem anxious to be the first person to sound the alarm for the death of the genre.

Some people tried to make the case that the first Avengers would be the end; others said that last year€™s Guardians Of The Galaxy would cause cracks in the facade of Marvel€™s cinematic dominance. Ant-Man€™s relative lack of success was also hailed as a sign of the coming downfall of the superhero until it became abundantly clear that audiences in China absolute adore the character.

Maybe there are some fans who are upset about having to share their toys and miss the days when Star-Lord wasn€™t a household name. Maybe some people feel that quality, well-told, thought-provoking original movies aren€™t being made in favor of more long underwear spectacles. Perhaps they just want to be the first to accurately aim the first nail in the coffin. Whatever the reason, despite those repeated hopes it€™s pretty clear that the superheroes aren€™t going anywhere for the following five reasons.
