4. The Uniqueness
Raiders and the bookend film of the trilogy, The Last Crusade, have similar tone. They are upbeat whiplash adventures where Indy takes on Nazis. The structure of the two films is similar as well, but Temple stands out in almost every way. The entire thing feels unique when you hold it up next to the other two, and that uniqueness adds to the fascinating texture of the movie. And the villains aren't Nazis but a dangerous, supernatural cult. From top to bottom Temple stands out and is more re-watchable than the other two.
