Just in case you had a hard time figuring out where The Room is situated, there are more than plenty of tracking shots of San Francisco and its landmarks to remind you. San Francisco serves as the transitions of time in the film, even going to great lengths to show you multiple shots of the same landmarks. The Room could only work in a city like San Francisco because of its unique culture and appeal to many groups of people. Of course, this didnʼt stop the crew from using green screen to capture the rooftops of San Francisco when it would have made more sense to shoot on location.
