5 Scenes That Prove Kevin Spacey Is The Best Actor Of His Generation

usual suspects Every generation brings about an actor who is quite obviously head and shoulders above his peers. The period from the early 1990's to the start of this century saw one particular name stand out a mile, with outstanding performances and award nominations becoming commonplace- that of former shoe salesman Kevin Spacey. Starting out in theatre, Spacey made a well-received move into television in the late '80's with roles in L.A. Law and Wiseguy. This led to film roles in which he was predominantly cast in 'character actor' parts, before Oscar success in the mid 90's hastened his claim as a strong leading man. While not everything Spacey touched turned to gold (he looked bored throughout 2000's Pay It Forward and the 2006 Superman Returns did nobody involved any favours) there is a seam of gold running throughout a large proportion of his work and, for me anyway, he certainly has a credible claim to be the best actor of his generation. While we'll be looking at some of his most memorable scenes in this article arguably his most famous one, the big reveal at the end of The Usual Suspects, has not been included. I felt it too obvious a choice, and one which everybody with even a passing interest in cinema should recognise already as a masterclass of acting. If you can think of any other examples that haven't been included and are worthy of mention, please do so in the comments section. Oh, and it goes without saying that this article contains spoilers.
