5 South Korean Films You Must Watch

what (4)

South Korean cinema has been rapidly growing in popularity intensely in the past few years. Having major successes; critically, financially and winning key Western and Eastern film awards it seems like Hollywood has a new rival. It is not just the commercial successes but it is the atmosphere and energetic new light they brought into films. Many South Korean films have swept both continents, paving the way in which future feature films should be. They consistently show stronger and more daring narratives, stunning cinematography and explore taboo subjects that Hollywood would never dare to venture into. It seems like these days Hollywood focuses primarily on remakes and more pointless sequels. For a long time now I have not found myself enjoying Hollywood films. It seems nowadays I find myself more drawn to South Korean films. Films like; The Host, Thirst, Public Enemy trilogy or Nameless Gangster have much more of a profound impact to me. I personally say a film is good if I am left constantly thinking about it in the following days. So here are the Top South Korean films that I personally feel that have had a major impact on me.
