Every year hundreds of movies are released. Most of them, we don't see. Of the ones we do see, some are pretty good, most are average, and some are pretty terrible. Of the terrible ones, most are just all-out terrible, with no redeeming factor. But, every now and again, there'll be one actor who stands out. One fantastic performance amongst a pile of garbage. This article is in honor of those few. The actors who gave us one silver lining that enabled us to sit through and tolerate even the worst of movies.
5. Rosamund Pike - Die Another Day & Wrath Of The Titans
One of
the favorites at WhatCulture, she is nonetheless one of the most sorely underrated actresses of our time. Rosamund Pike has a history of appearing in mediocre films and outshining everybody in them, but she's only really had two
terrible movies in her filmography. The first of those would be Die Another Day (2002), which was actually her big screen debut. The 20th movie in the James Bond franchise, it was widely derided as being a weak entry into the series. Complaints ranged from a lousy plot, crummy villains, Madonna, the theme song (sung by Madonna), excessive CGI, and Madonna. Even Halle Berry - who may be one of the most gifted actresses of all time - was seen as a disappointment by some. But Rosamund Pike's performance was the saving grace. Playing the villainous double agent Miranda Frost, she stole each scene she was in (which wasn't really enough scenes, to be honest). And her second terrible movie would be 2012's The Wrath of the Titans, but the less said about that, the better.
