5. He Joined The Military After 9/11 As He "Just Needed To Get Out There"

Before Adam Driver turned his attention to Hollywood, he started to form a career in the military. Shortly after the tragic events of 9/11, he signed up for the United States Marine Corps. In an article for the Interview Magazine, Driver stated that "he needed to get out of there , and the Marine Corps was a nice, stable option." He served for nearly three years before being readied for deployment to Iraq, but he injured his sternum in a mountain-bike accident. He further exacerbated the injury following his own insistence that he should go back into training until fit. From there, he was medically discharged and decided to turn his focus to acting instead.
