As crazy as it seems, it has been over 31 years since Steven Spielberg's classic adventure film Raiders of the Lost Ark first hit theaters. Now, three decades later, Indiana Jones is back on the big screen... The big, big, big screen! That's right folks, Indy is back in theaters in IMAX this month! Also, fans will be able to enjoy all 4 films for the first time on Blu-Ray in an epic box set that is set for release on September 18th. In honor of all this Indy love, here are the 5 things you didn't know about Raiders of the Lost Ark.

What kind of a world would it be if Tom Sellick ended up playing Indiana Jones? This isn't just a drunken geek out question either. In fact actor Tom Selleck was ready willing and able to wear the fedora and crack the whip back in 1981 for Raiders. Screen tests were even done with him in full costume mustache and all! This footage is quite possibly the weirdest thing to watch nowadays as Tom Selleck looks hilarious as Indiana Jones. He looks like a kid at a Halloween party. Thank heavens Tom couldn't fulfill his role in the film as he was committed to his duties on Magnum P.I. Maybe in a different universe Tom Selleck could have been one hell of an Indiana Jones. But ever since 1981 when we got our first look at Mr. Harrison Ford battling Nazis and searching for mythical antiquities, it's impossible to fathom anyone else in the role.
