4. C-3PO and R2-D2 Make a Cameo
If you thought droids could only be found in Star Wars films or cell phone stores, then mister you are dead wrong! The lovable robot pair can be found tucked away in Raiders as a nod to George Lucas, the man behind them and Indiana Jones. If you look REALLY close, you can spot the aforementioned droids in hieroglyphic form during the finding of the Ark in the Well of Souls. This isn't unusual as pretty much all of the same people who worked on Raiders made their set/prop design bones on Star Wars. Even more obscure, is the fact that the droids also appear on The Well of Souls Kenner play-set from back when the film was first released. I know this to be fact because I own said play-set, and can attest to the fact that on the outside of the plastic stone cover for the toy Ark and molded onto the side, is non-other than 3PO and R2. As a kid I found this to be a little jarring but now I can take this friendly Easter Egg in stride.
