5 Ways Justice League Ruins Its Best Characters

2. Cyborg Is Cy-Boring

*Chanting* He’s big, he’s grey, he hasn’t got much to say, CYBOOOOOORG, CYBOOOOORG.

Brooding and quiet should be a description befitting of Batman among Justice Leaguers, but instead it was Ray Fisher’s Victor Stone who portrayed a robotic Cyborg, taking his first steps as a member of the super group. We’re perfectly aware Cyborg is in some ways a robot, but his script was a lot more stale than fans of the former college football star might have hoped for.

Technological mastery and hand cannons aside, there was only so much Fisher could do with a character who had very, very little background to work with and was covered in a grey tracksuit for much of the film, making him difficult to get along with as a leading member of the team.

Yes, the character is written to be somewhat stone-faced and standoffish, separate from the rest of the group until he himself chooses to embrace them, but does he have to be so bloody boring?

A few scenes with his father here and the odd quip or two there is all we really get to know Cyborg, who in some ways deserved or needed more origins explanation than any other Leaguer.

At least he said “Booyah” toward the end. That was cool.
