5 Woefully Cast Roles In Comic Book Movies

chris evans fantastic four Superhero/comic book films are a genre where a lot rides on the casting of your big name roles. This is not just because of the fact that there is a lot of investment for certain groups of society towards the original material, but also because that much of these films involve larger than life sets, props and effects which means if the wrong person is cast, then they could just look all sixes and sevens amongst all the stuff around them. Sometimes the casting of a superhero film is inspirational. Robert Downey Jr is a fantastic Iron Man and oozes cool as Tony Stark- the wisecracking playboy from the Marvel Comic. However there have been plenty of casting ideas for comic book characters that have been, frankly, mystifying. Some of these ideas are down to trying to squeeze star power into the movie which have ended up offending the very audience they are targeting. Others are down to people trying to adapt the character to the silver screen because they believe that some of the characters subtleties will not work on film- an ironic statement when one considers how much film critics often look down their noses at comics and comic book movies. So just to make clear before people expect the cast of Daredevil to turn up on these next couple of pages- this is going to be an attempt to focus on poor casting rather than poor writing or directing.
