50 Greatest Action Movies Of All Time

33. Face/Off (1997)

Crank 2
Paramount Pictures

John Woo's best Hollywood movie by quite some distance, Face/Off finds the director striking the perfect balance between his Eastern and Western output, with the result a deranged, ludicrous and quite frankly awesome high-concept actioner.

Yes, the plot is beyond stupid, but the end result is nonetheless spectacular. Nicolas Cage and John Travolta devour the scenery in their dual roles, while Woo revels in deploying his full cinematic arsenal; epic shootouts, high-speed chases, Mexican standoffs and doves are the order of the day in one of the 1990's best genre movies.

I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
