Plot: After a sexual encounter, a young woman (Maika Monroe) starts being stalked by a mysterious entity.

It Follows has one of the best horror movie premises in recent memory, and you know what? The movie completely does it justice. The film is sometimes labelled as the STI horror film and that's actually pretty reductive, for It Follows goes so much deeper than that.

The film uses its terrifying concept, likable young cast, note-perfect visuals and harrowingly effective scares to explore mortality, adolescence and trauma, and it's one of those pictures where every scene is full of well-crafted details. Truly, there is so much to take from It Follows, and as if that wasn't enough, it's quite arguably one of the most frightening films of the 2010s.

The ending is terrible, but even that doesn't take away from It Follows' status as one of its decade's most elite horror films.
