50 Greatest Movie Scenes Of All Time

26. Apocalypse Now - I Love the Smell of Napalm in the Morning

Honestly, I don€™t know the exact reason why this scene/quote is on this list, it just is; the only reasoning I have is that it is awesome. Plain and simple. Watching Robert Duvall play the loose handed Lieutenant €œBill€ Kilgore was an honour, especially when realising that the film came about before The Godfather, where Duvall looked considerably older. The look on his face towards the end when he says: €œSomeday this war€™s gonna end.€ was priceless. http://youtu.be/sBksHaTQCbU

25. 2001: A Space Odyssey - The Jupiter Room

Well, it€™s really the end but still. Biggest MINDF**K ever. I mean€what the hell happened? I can€™t even conjure up the words to describe this. Kubrick wanted the viewers to interpret it, but I can honestly say that I€™m too confused by it. There is so much being questions in such little time. It is something that I€™ll never forget. http://youtu.be/GLZdnR7Nkus

24. Sherlock, Jr. - Trick Photography

Buster Keaton is so special. He pioneered so much in cinema, but did it whilst making people laugh. He has many funny moments. This one shows both sides of him: the witty, slapstick man of joy and the pioneering, defying king of silent American movies. Watching the scene now may make you feel like it is fairly unimpressive. But for its day, I€™m sure it was the new great development in an ever-developing art form. http://youtu.be/A6JnGTXCkHA

23. Taxi Driver - You Talkin' to Me

One of the most quoted of all movie quotables; €œYou talkin€™ to me?€ has the power to leave a very burning image in one€™s mind. Even though the quote is present, the scene is great overall because it shows the first sign of a quickly unravelling Travis Bickle. In addition to this, I feel like the end part of the speech: €œThen who the f**k are you talkin€™ to?€ is more vital to the character study; it shows Travis pretending to talk to someone, to reach out, when in actual fact, he is just talking to himself. http://youtu.be/A6JnGTXCkHA
