12. I Got Life - Hair
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y-WgDKwzLxo Why did Treat Williams not do a ton of musicals back in the 80s? He really should have, because he is fantastic here. Basically, he and his gaggle of hippie friends crash a debutante party of a rich New York socialite so that Claude the yokel can get a glimpse of the girl hes smitten with before being sent off to Vietnam. Of course, it doesnt take very long for them to be found out, but rather than leave, he jumps up on the table and performs a frenetic song that forces everyone else to scramble around clearing the table so that he doesnt step in the food. The best moment by far, however, is watching Mrs. Garrett from The Facts of Life getting super into his performance. 11. Big Spender - Sweet Charity
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iG3VfKlfDEk What's interesting about this number from Sweet Charity is that while it is a pretty provocative scene about a bunch of hookers trying to reel in their next John, it's actually surprisingly realistic about prostitution and not glamorized or sexualized unnecessarily. These women are doing their little dances and coming on to the wealthy man who just walked into the room, and while they're cooing out to him, they are showing no emotion. It's an exercise in measured, calculated sexuality, with hardly a wasted movement from any of the girls. Their voices are soft and seductive, but if you look at their faces it's only too obvious that they'd rather be pretty much anywhere else.
