50 Huge Movie Characters That Were Completely Miscast
15. Mark Wahlberg As Victor Sullivan - Uncharted
Particularly when casting for a source material as popular as Uncharted, it is important to get it right. You want the feel of a video game to come through immediately, and that starts with the actors.
With that in mind, what on Earth were the filmmakers thinking when they cast Mark Wahlberg as Victor Sullivan in Uncharted? The character from the games is a gruff old man, with white hair, a thick white moustache, and rarely without a cigar in his mouth. Ironically, he looks like Tom Hanks in Sully, portraying a completely separate character of the same name who looks almost identical, only a little less rough around the edges.
Bryan Cranston was a popular fan cast, but really anyone would have been better. In no way, shape, or form did Marky Mark come across as anything close to Sully, either in appearance or attitude, even considering the younger version of the character seen throughout flashbacks in the third game, Drake's Deception.
What makes this worse is that he was originally cast as Nathan Drake, a character that he equally had no business playing, before the movie spent so long in development hell that the plans changed.
Speaking of which...
