50 Huge Movie Characters That Were Completely Miscast
14. Tom Holland As Nathan Drake - Uncharted
Yes, we as a collective audience can breathe a sigh of relief that Mark Wahlberg didn't ultimately bring Nathan Drake to life, but in Tom Holland, the filmmakers didn't exactly offer much of an improvement.
Outstanding as Spider-Man, certainly, and with the charisma and chops to lead an action romp like this in other circumstances, Tom Holland encapsulated Drake no more than Mark Wahlberg would have. A fun character, but not Drake, again, even taking into account the film focusing on the younger version than the typical.
Nathan Fillion would have been perfect for the role. He has the look, the flair, the comedic timing, and everything else needed for Drake, as he proved in the below fan-made film. The only thing not in his favour was his age, but this is the type of vibe the movie should have gone for.
Instead, Holland felt absolutely nothing like Drake, and more like Peter Parker trapped in a different film. After bringing Spidey to life for Sony, and with his name apparently high on the list for the next Bond, even before the property was acquired by Amazon, is it just that Sony are obsessed with the man? Should we expect him to suit up as God of War's Kratos next?
