26. The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It Vera Farmiga Patrick Wilson
Warner Bros.

The third Conjuring movie will sadly see James Wan depart the directing chair - replaced with The Curse of La Llorona's Michael Chaves, even - but with Wan still returning as producer and story writer, and the previous film's writer David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick back to pen the screenplay, there's still plenty to be hopeful for.

Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will return once more to play paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren in an adaptation of the trial of Arne Cheyenne Johnson, aka the "Devil Made Me Do It" case.

Whether it ends up being the final Conjuring movie or not - unlikely, we're guessing - the suitably chilling real-life inspiration gives the filmmakers plenty to work with.
