52 Reasons Why Jurassic Park Might Just Be the Greatest Film of all Time

46. "The voice you're now hearing is Richard Kiley..."

They did it... they really did it... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FwmhmiV_bDM The ride at Universal studios really does feature the voice of American nature film narrator Richard Kiley. I've never wanted to go on that tour more.

47. "You are alive when they start to eat you..."

Meme Edward... This is the sort of meme I can get behind. The raptor is a pack hunter, so there are probably a couple more in the area that we can't see. I've never seen a Twilight movie so I'm really just jumping on the bandwagon here, but it doesn't really matter. I think it would make any movie still funnier if you added a raptor in the background.

48. "God creates dinosaurs. God destroys dinosaurs. God creates man. Man destroys God. Man creates dinosaurs."

Dinosaurs eat man... Woman inherits the earth. You won't regret doing an image search for "raptor Jesus". For some reason there are hundreds of them.

49. "You think that's bad..."

An instant and universal frame of reference... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucjEy7UhyUU&feature=related When shows like The Simpsons and Family Guy (above) reference something you know it's part of the pop culture: recognisable even to those who haven't seen the movie. Yet more evidence of the film's staying power.

50. "Unless they figure out how to open doors"

Not jumping the shark... Spielberg has his dinosaurs learning to open doors, cutting to them figuring it out directly after Ellie Sattler laughs about the idea. It should be a very silly "jumping the shark" moment, but somehow it works. I can only put that down to the atmosphere and the fact that the film is so good you are prepared to suspend your disbelief that little bit further than you might otherwise usually.

51. "Who's hungry?"

Cereal thriller... Does anyone else remember buying Weetabix branded with the movie? It's the only time I demanded this particular, sugar-less cereal as a child - cutting out the cardboard dinosaurs on the box. Can you imagine this now? It seems so antiquated. God, I feel old.

52. "One man has found a way to bring the mystery... back to life."

The original trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bim7RtKXv90 This brilliant promo doesn't reveal any of the CGI dinosaurs. I wish there were more trailers like this today. Jurassic Park is released on blu-ray for the first time on October 24th. A limited theatrical re-release begins from next Friday (September 23rd).
