6 Crossover Events We Want To See In The MCU
What do we want? Hulk at war, murderous rampages and cosmic wars. When do we want them? Eventually!
Next year, one of the biggest comic events to hit the Marvel Universe will finally be brought to the screen in Captain America: Civil War. It'll bring together just about every hero we've since seen brought to life so far (minus Hulk and Thor - we'll have to wait until Thor: Ragnorak to see them) and for the first time we're seeing them assemble away from the Avengers banner. Civil War was a cataclysmic event for Marvel; pitting two teams of ideologically opposed heroes against each other without the influence of a villainous presence orchestrating events was just about unprecedented and it still looms large as an example of company-wide crossover story telling nearly ten years later. It's no surprise that Civil War is the first big event to get the big screen treatment given the arcs of these characters over the years, but Marvel does have a vast history to draw from, and there have been plenty of other huge and hugely influential events that it could, nay, should, bring to life in the MCU. Being from the uniquely liberated medium of comic books some of these tales are mostly more far out than the pretty grounded Civil War, but with the MCU constantly pushing its narrative capabilities even the most high-concept event shouldn't be too much of a stretch for Marvel Studios going forward. So come on Marvel, show us the goods. They don't have to be perfect adaptations but these stories need to be told.
