6 Game-Changing Original Plans You Didn't Know About The Warriors

3. Swan’s Original Plans Saw Him Captured By A Homosexual Sadomachistic Gang.

Speaking of Swan, if Fox is supposed to be the original love interest of Mercy, what were his plans? Well after escaping the Baseball Furies, Swan was to be captured by a homosexual sadomachistic gang called The Dingos.

Described in the original screenplay as “bodybuilder types, [with] greased up arms and skin t-shirts'' each restraining a “leashed doberman”, the Dingos imprison Swan within a straight jacket and hurl flirtatious compliments, whilst beating him relentlessly. They are seemingly effeminately predatory and cartoonish caricatures of the gay community, referring to eachother as “dear”, “honey” and referring to Swan as “cute” and “she”. What ensues is a daring escape from Swan, something akin to Macgyver.

Interestingly, on IMDB, it states that the Dingos can be seen in the conclave meeting of all the gangs early in the film, however they are essentially fully removed from the theatrical and subsequent releases. Perhaps it's best that this stereotype does not feature in the film, as The Warriors is notoriously flippant with it's slurs against the gay community...

Oliver Campbell hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
