Her Type

As with anyone who spends a huge portion of their career playing one single character, Jennifer Aniston's image in Hollywood after Friends was very much that she and Rachel Green were inseparable. She'd surely make the rest of her career as a romantic comedy lead or as a love interest, even in more dramatic movies.

That seemed to be confirmed by her roles in the likes of Along Came Polly, The Break-Up and Bruce Almighty - hardly challenging roles - which doubled down on her Rachel appeal.

How She Broke It

It took until 2011, but Aniston finally killed Rachel Green when she played toxic, highly-sexed, abusive boss Dr Julia Harris in Horrible Bosses. It was as much a bad girl role as Rachel was a good girl as the dentist made unwanted, aggressive sexual advances towards her male hygienist (Charlie Day) and took it even further than that, rather worryingly.

She's basically evil personified and far more provocative than anything she'd played up until that point, which is why the performance is so deliciously rewarding.
