6 Most Important Characters Missing From Captain America: Civil War

3. Goliath

As the name suggests, Goliath is a big character in the Marvel Universe. Well, he€™s big in the literal sense - he€™s hardly a beloved hero with his own franchise beckoning. An ex-associate of the original Ant-Man/Goliath Hank Pym, Bill Foster takes on the mantle of Goliath when Pym decides on a different moniker (he becomes Yellowjacket, which may get confusing for those who€™ve only seen the films). Once the Civil War rolls around, Goliath stands with Captain America against his mentor and gets killed for his trouble, becoming a martyr and bringing several other heroes to the anti-registration side. The specifics of his death may be too convoluted for the screen (a clone of Thor, who is dead, blasts him through the chest with lightning), but with the MCU seemingly unwilling to kill of its major players having a few red-shirt heroes like Goliath to act as catalysts wouldn€™t go amiss. He€™s also a symbol of the power wielded with such flippancy by these heroes, that one so big could be killed to easily and that they would continue to dabble with sciences beyond their grasp such as cloning a god, regardless of the consequences. A similar effect could be gained by having The Vision take a life, but with Age Of Ultron going to such lengths to prove his virtuousness, I can€™t see Marvel making him break bad just yet.
