6 Reasons Why Tron 3 Needs To Happen Already

Tron 3 shouldn’t take another 28 years to arrive. It needs to happen soon.

It took nearly 28 years for a sequel to 1982€™s groundbreaking Tron to hit theaters. Released to a rather divided critical response and not quite living up to Disney€™s financial expectations for it, that sequel, Tron: Legacy, still managed to capture an audience that enjoyed its superb special effects, its cool thematic concepts and its awesome soundtrack. In the several years since Legacy left theaters €“ and with many new fans born after diving into the film for the first time in its subsequent home video release €“ the film€™s stars, writers and director have continued to tease a potential third film. Unfortunately, due to a disinterest by Disney, a stall in creative momentum or any number of other issues, a third Tron remains nowhere in sight, leaving those interested in the continuation of the franchise in the dark about when it may actually happen. So while the gears continue to spin (or not) on the film, fans can only speculate about what the future may hold. The franchise€™s potential is as vast, endless and full of opportunity as the Grid itself, but here are just a few reasons why Tron 3 shouldn€™t take another 28 years to arrive.
