6 Star Wars: The Force Awakens Theories You Probably Haven’t Heard
4. Supreme Leader Snoke Is Rey's Father
Stop laughing! Okay, you can carry on, actually. The idea that Snoke (whom one can probably assume is an alien - unless he is just a f*cked-up looking human, similar to the erstwhile Emperor) fathered Rey is more than a little preposterous, but there is a Lucas-approved symmetry to the idea. If the villain of the new saga is Kylo Ren aka Ben Solo aka DJ Daddy Issues, the son of one of the biggest heroes in the galaxy, then a suitable mirror would have its protagonist be the offspring of the biggest bad this side of Palpatine - whom we might as well throw into the ring as a potential baby-daddy, because, screw it. We've got a year and a half to kill. The theory, birthed over at Slashfilm, subscribes to the idea that this reveal could be the basis for another symmetrical element; a fresh twist on the whole 'I am your father' thing, considering the fact that this new trilogy's Old Wise Mentor (tm) character bought the moisture farm on its new version of the Death Star. Additional "evidence" to support the theory is Snoke's obvious irrational fear of Luke Skywalker; it's suggested that in some bizarre spin on who the bad guy really is, Snoke hid Rey away on Jakku to protect her from Luke. If you're up for this theory, please feel free to make your way to your local supermarket where you can purchase your very own DIY tinfoil hat.
