7 Actors That Hollywood Can't Decide Their Ethnicity

6. Oscar Isaac

Oscar Isaac Gif Isaac plays an American folk singer with Welsh roots in the Coen Brothers€™ Inside Llewyn Davis, but the soon-to-be-a-household-name actor (he€™s one of the leads in Star Wars Episode VII and was given a slightly expanded role after Harrison Ford€™s recent injury on-set) is actually of Guatemalan and Cuban descent and was born Oscar Isaac Hernandez. Isaac has played a variety of different ethnicities, from the Latin Standard Gabriel in Drive to the decidedly Anglo-Saxon Prince John in 2010€™s Robin Hood and even Joseph in 2006€™s The Nativity Story. It€™s obvious why he chose to change his name €“ it€™s harder to get non-stereotyped roles in Hollywood if you€™re obviously ethnic €“ but Isaac hasn€™t gone quite as far as some other actors and has steered clear of actually altering his physical appearance in order to better fit in, making him something of a stealth Latin-American actor in the movie world.
