7 Actors Who Really Messed Up Their First Day Of Filming
2. Jonny Lee Miller Spends First Day With His Head In A Toilet - T2 Trainspotting
It doesn't matter whether you're an average Joe sat watching your favourite TV show on Netflix or a well known actor stepping back into a character's shoes for the first in twenty years, illness can strike at any time, folks.
That's exactly what Jonny Lee Miller found out the hard way during his first day on set for Danny Boyle's sequel to the iconic Trainspotting (1996).
Instead of laughing and joking with his long lost co-stars and reminiscing about the good ol' days, the actor spent the majority of his first day as an older Simon 'Sick Boy' Williamson with his head stuck in a toilet pan. In hindsight, violently being sick into a loo for hours on end actually sounds like a very 'Sick Boy' thing to do, and Miller even admitted 'I hope nobody thought I had taken my character too much to heart.'
In the end, once the actor had flushed away that embarrassing initial day back with the team, Miller was able to brilliantly pick up where he left off with the likes of Ewan McGregor, Ewan Bremnar and Robert Carlyle and more than played his part in producing the crowd-pleasing comeback that was T2 Trainspotting (2017).
