7. Bruce Almighty Egypt
With most of the worlds populations following a religion in some form, putting God in your film can open you up to all sorts of problems, especially when that film is a comedy. So when Bruce Almighty crashed into worldwide theatres there were some who felt that though the film is undoubtedly silly, it still had the potential to upset a few apple carts and so it proved. To give Bruce Almighty its due, its a good film done well, with Gods power serving as a crutch so Jim Carreys reporter can learn important lessons rather than being used to mock religion. Yet that couldnt save them from the wrath of Egypt. The Egyptians didnt take issue with God being depicted, presumably because he was being played by Morgan Freeman. What they did take issue with was what Jim Carrey chose to do with Gods powers when they were bestowed upon him. Namely, he chose to grow Jennifer Anistons boobs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYM0SAcDZ0c Its safe to say the Egyptians didnt take this well, banning the film from cinemas under the reason that it profaned Allah to see His powers used in such a way. That one throwaway scene in which Jim Carrey acts out some boyfriend wish-fulfilment appears to be the only reason the film is actually outlawed in Egypt pretty costly for about two minutes of footage.
