7 Great Batman Characters Yet To Appear In A Movie
1. Clayface
Batman's rogues gallery is one of the most well-known - and just damn fun - in comics. Ask someone who doesn't even read any of the titles featuring the character, who hasn't even seen a Batman film, and they'll probably be able to reel off the best of a dozen of his enemies.
Saying that, and despite comfortably sitting in the Dark Knight's top tier of enemies, there's still one who hasn't had the opportunity to shine: Clayface.
To absolutely no one's surprise, there are a number of versions of the character, but the original and best is Basil Karlo. A bitter, failed actor, Karlo initially didn't have any supernatural powers, and only developed them after some good old fashioned comic book convolution. As with the best villains, though, Karlo is more than his powers (in this case, shape-shifting, super strength, durability, and endurance): he's both horrifying and sympathetic. He's committed cold-blooded murder, came within a whisker of uncovering Batman's real identity, and even joined the Bat Family as a hero as part of Batwoman's crew, alongside Robin and others.
The power of the character is plain to see, and indeed has already been explored in a mainstream medium thanks to the classic Batman: The Animated Series. The technology is there to bring him to a live action screen, and what's more meta than an actor playing an actor?
Who Should Play Him: This is the fun part. Thanks to his shape-shifting ability, he can be played by more than one person, and just about anyone. Why not have Michael Keaton appear, or Christian Bale, if only for a few moments? Not only that, he can be used as a way to test the water for any number of DC characters. As for the voice, Mike Patton (vocalist of Faith No More) is more than capable of monstrous, guttural speech.
