7 Great Happy Madison Movies (And 7 That SUCK)
6. GREAT: Funny People
Funny People is a movie that ticks a great many boxes. It gives us a rare glimpse at Sandler's self-aware side, as well as his vulnerabilities and his capacity to actually act. Seth Rogen's performance as the struggling comic taken under Adam Sandler's (sorry, George Simmons') wing makes for an enjoyable and, at times, heart-wrenching watch.
The fact that each of the characters actually have some semblance of depth only serves to raise Funny People even higher above many of Sandler's other works, and when you factor in Eric Bana's brilliantly funny performance, there is very little reason not to recommend this movie to those who haven't already seen it.
