Traveling is an effort that requires lots of will and energy. That’s why you always get hungry before you board a flight, even tough you’re just going to sleep through the entire thing. Space travel is on a whole different level.

The titular Blob from this movie (either the 1958 or the 1988 version) is a traveler from another world that arrives on Earth buried deep within the core of a meteorite. And you thought that flying Coach was a bad deal.

Right after crash landing, the Blob receives a warm earthly welcome via a curious man that decides to poke said meteorite with a stick. A bad idea, of course. As soon as the space rock is disturbed, the Blob awakens with an insatiable appetite that can only be mitigated by the rich flavor of human flesh, bones and entrails.

Everything is consumed, nothing is wasted: a marvel of ingestion and digestion, really.

I hear a voice inside my head, it always tells me to go get tacos. Like... right NOW! Ok, jeez, you don't have to shout. Occasionally, I write content for What Culture.
