3. Dredd In Dredd
The whole point of the Judge Dredd character is that he is unchanging. An infamous law giver in metropolis Mega City One, he's been doling out ridiculously over the top punishments to law breakers without a thought for morals for nigh on forty years. Last year's Dredd, a hyper stylised, fan adored box office bomb, proved to be a much more accurate interpretation of the character than the 1995 Sly Stalone vehicle, with Karl Urbans interpretation of the character praised. Which is sort of odd when you consider theres as much meat on the characters figurative bones as there are literally on Judge Death's. Now for this film, not developing is kinda the point, but its this that very likely led to the its rather niche appeal. Not only did Judge Dredd not develop, but neither did anyone else in the cast. The only one who came close was Olivia Thirby's Anderson, but only as far as going Oh, I can use guns now. For non-comic fans there was no link to the world and thus it became a blood splattered, but distant curio.
