7 Movie Stars Who Flopped On TV

7. Alicia Silverstone - Miss Match

Having charmed the pants off the world's cinemagoers as Cher in Jane Austen reboot Clueless, Alicia Silverstone was as in demand as a dip at a taco festival. She went on to play Batgirl in Batman & Robin, a massive role in a crummy flick that signalled it wasn't going to be plain sailing. Maybe the networks would provide a more stable environment for her charismatic screen persona. Well she's certainly given it a good go so far. Teen cartoon Braceface did well, but what of her talent in front of camera? A few pilots have been tucked under her belt over the years. Her biggest shot at small screen glory however was 2003's Miss Match. She played central character Kate Fox (strangely enough the series was a Fox production), who was an attorney slash matchmaker. Despite being co-created by Sex & The City's Darren Star it died in its Friday night timeslot. Maybe viewers were growing tired of Star's bright and breezy output. Or perhaps Kate lacked the substance of a Carrie Bradshaw. Either way, Miss Match didn't get the audience wanting to pair up with Silverstone.
