7 Movies Where The Villain Dies Earlier Than You Think

4. Anguirus - Godzilla Raids Again

Godzilla Raids Again is the second entry into the hit monster franchise, and while not nearly as iconic as its predecessor, is nevertheless a solid rock 'em sock 'em creature feature.

The film features Godzilla's first clash with another monster, in this case his ancient archenemy Anguirus, yet rather than save the throwdown for the end of the movie as expected, director Motoyoshi Oda bizarrely gets it out of the way mid-film.

The Osaka-set battle itself is good goofy fun for fans of guy-in-suits monster brawls, though ends rather abruptly when 'Zilla chomps on Anguirus' neck and promptly incinerates him with his atomic breath... just 46 minutes into the film.

Given that Godzilla Raids Again clocks in at a svelte 82 minutes, that's scarcely past the half-way mark, after which the story detours to focus excessively on the human characters, who eventually end up launching a bombing run against the King of the Monsters and bury him in ice.

Just imagine if Godzilla vs. Kong dared pull something like this.
