3. The Most Expensive Day-Off Ever - Ferris Bueller's Day Off
The Plot Hole: "How does Ferris, a teenager without a job, pay for that insanely expensive (and infamous) day off?"
The Deleted Scene: This isn't the kind of plot hole to keep you awake at night, but a plot hole nonetheless, given that Ferris tells us in the movie that he doesn't have any money, and the proceeds to drag his best friend and girl around town, doing insanely expensive things, like attending baseball games, eating at fancy restaurants, and going to museums. I mean, if the guy hasn't got a job, and he hasn't, like, stolen the money, how did he manage to pay for all that? Oh, wait: he
did steal the money. And from his family, too. The scene was simply omitted from the final version, presumably because these actions made Ferris look like an even bigger than he already is. In this deleted scene, Ferris tricks his father into revealing where he's been keeping all of his precious bonds, and proceeds to steal them out of a shoebox hidden in his wardrobe. I mean, what kind of human being was this first draft Ferris? Disgusting behaviour, if you ask me.
